This week we will be celebrating Thanksgiving! A day for spending time together with family and friends. And giving thanks for our many blessings.
Do you have plans to gather with friends and family to celebrate Thanksgiving? We are staying home, like we always do for the holidays. But this year seems like it will be extra special. Because my brother Eric will be here with us!
A year ago, when I wrote the Thanksgiving post, I had only been with my mom for a few weeks. And now it has been over a year!
I love resting with my dad on his recliner!
What a wonderful year it has been! This seems like a great opportunity to reflect on some highlights. And some of the things I am most grateful for.
I have settled into my new home. Come to love my sisters, Buffy and Roo. Adjusted to the household routine. As well as my mom’s routine and knowing just what she needs.
I love my sister, Roo!
Over the past year, I have perfected many tasks to help my mom. Some just needed refinement to meet my mom’s specific needs. And some brand new tasks that my mom taught me. As I’ve told you before, I love my job!
I’ve taken many fun classes, through Fenzi Dog Sports Academy, with my mom. Which is helping to lay a solid foundation for our future with obedience competitions. And is giving us lots of new things to learn and practice!
I love laying on the couch with Buffy!
I even got to start an in-person training class this past week. My mom is so happy to be doing this. And so very grateful for the opportunity to take the class. I’m just happy to be doing something new and fun with my mom!
Earlier this year we worked on learning a variety of tricks. And earned four Trick Dog titles. We also earned our TEAM 1 title from FDSA. And are just about ready to try for our TEAM 2 title.
But most of all I am grateful for the time I spend with my mom. No matter where we are or what we are doing. And I am very grateful for the many ways I can help give her greater independence.
Most of all, I love being close to my mom!
So like I said, it has been a wonderful year. With the hope that this coming year will be filled with many more blessings!
Such a lovely post! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, two and four-legged!
