Three years ago this month Buffy started her blog. With little thought as to where it would lead her. Or what impact it may have on others.

For more than 25 years, I had wanted to write a children’s book about service dogs. A dream I held in my heart. Although I never thought it would happen.

But my dear friend, Denise Fenzi, made that dream a reality. Because soon there was to be the release of Buffy’s book.

The book … Blogger Dog Buffy, Service Dog! … is co-authored by Denise and myself. And truly became a dream come true for me!

In anticipation of the book’s release, Denise asked me if I would like to start a real blog. Since she felt it would be an opportunity to continue educating about service dogs beyond the book. Because a book can only provide the info it contains.

I hesitated because I wasn’t confident in my writing abilities. And wasn’t sure there would be enough to write about. But with encouragement from Denise, I agreed to try. And here we are three years later!

This is the 156th blog post. I have had the honor of writing five previous posts. With this being my sixth one. Buffy has written seventy-nine posts. And Clint seventy-one posts.

IIn my opinion, I think Buffy and Clint are far better writers than myself. So I’m happy to have them as the primary writers for the blog. Although I do enjoy sharing my thoughts occasionally. Just not too often!

Since Buffy is retired, Clint has become the main writer. Although Buffy will give you updates now and then. And Clint may even let me write an occasional post.

I think the initial intent of the blog has been met. With lots of educational content being shared about service dogs. Mixed in with some fun-loving posts. And a few that show the realities of life.

It has been heartwarming to know that many of the posts have been helpful to others. They have given a better understanding of just how a service dog can give greater independence to a person with a disability.

Buffy and Clint have enriched my life and enhanced my independence far beyond measure. Because of their assistance, I can live each day to the fullest. Even on the most challenging days.

I want to send out a heartfelt thank you to each of you. Your comments, encouraging words, and support are very much appreciated. I have been deeply touched by your kind words and thoughtfulness over the years.

I am grateful for all of you who have followed along from the beginning. And all of you who have joined us along the way. Because without you, it would feel like we were navigating this path by ourselves.

It has been an honor to share our journey with you. I’m looking forward to sharing more about our everyday life. And our adventures, too!.

Thank you for joining us! And as always, please share your thoughts and ideas for what you want to see in future posts.
